The Tommee Tippee Dreammaker has officially become my nighttime BFF. Between the pink noise, the soothing red light, and the cry sensor, it’s like having a baby whisperer on my bedside table. I’m not sure who it’s calming more—my baby or me—but hey, if it works, it works.

The only catch? It has to stay plugged in all the time. So, forget about moving it around unless you’re ready to play the “find an outlet” game. Not ideal, but let’s be real—at 3 a.m., I’m not moving anything except my eyelids (barely).

Still, for something that turns bedtime chaos into something resembling peace, I’ll take it. Highly recommend—just be ready to treat it like a houseplant and keep it rooted in one spot!

I heard really good things about these and bought one in preparation for my baby's arrival. She will watch the pulsing light for a while and she gets so sleepy just doing that and enjoying the white noise. It really seems to help settle her at night. The noise turns stays on for a good length of time then shuts off automatically after a while and if baby stirs it detects the noise and starts the white noise up again immediately. We have it resting on top of our headboard and if it goes off before we are ready we just give it a tap or a nudge and it starts up again. The only thing I don't really like is that when the white noise stops and starts it does so very abruptly. It stops suddenly it can actually rouse you from your sleep a little bit especially if you're just drifting off, I think little one notices this too and disturbs her a bit, if we are quick enough we start it right back up again by tapping the device and she goes off again, but the sudden silence has disturbed me and my husband too. Then when it restarts it just starts up again at the same volume. It would be better if the white noise faded in and out rather than just stopping and starting. Overall a good gadget to have though and I am glad we have it.

I was about to return this product as it wouldn't turn on. As a last resort, instead of using one of my high quality Anker usb c cables I tried the usb a to usb c cable supplied with the unit and it works. This is so annoying as I now have to buy a plug that is usb a as the only one I have is in use.

It is possible to use the dream maker as a constant light and/or pink noise machine by turning off the cry detection. However the unit will get confused sometimes and retire unplugging and plugging back in again to stop it from turning it every 40 minutes.

This product is ok, not sure if it's made a massive difference to sleep but wanted a background noise that's continuous. Points of improvement would be:
1) option for volume to be louder, even at it's loudest it's not very loud
2) option to turn the light off completely
3) the cry sensor to be much more sensitive. I only used it once because it never turned on even when my baby was crying, which makes me think that babies need to be incredibly distressed before it'll turn off... Which is counterintuitive because by that point the baby wouldn't be consoled by pink noise alone
4) an option to turn it on/off with a button and not the hand sensor which doesn't work very well

The brightness isn’t great but to be quite honest it was just right for us. I could just about see my baby in the light but if you’re after a night light this isn’t what it’s designed for. This is for soothing your baby and making them feel comfortable and safe. The light and pink noise do just that. My baby never sleeps without contact with me but with this she now sleeps in her own space confidently! When she has stirred in the night all I have to do is lightly touch it to activate and she goes back to sleep. It does have a cry sensor and will come on then but I’m a light sleeper so able to turn it on before the tears!

For us, I think this thing is just magical for soothing and helping get your baby to sleep. Well worth the money!

There are a number of settings to suit your sleeping baby. We always use the pulsing light along with the red light and white noise. I tried the motion/noise sensor for a while, but found that I prefer to manually turn it on/off (very easy, with a simple touch and no button or switch required). Our bedroom where we keep her bassinet is large, so we also use a nightlight so we can see in the dark, but a smaller room would probably be fine without this additional light.
