I got these to go with the Smallrig fresnel lens. They fit very well and are very well made, one mught say sturdy, that sturdiness does mean they are not very lightweight but the sturdiness gives confidence they will last. The ability to add gels the barndoor fitting gives is a bonus.
Overall I'm very pleased with the unit.

Rugged - but it won’t fit all Aputure or Godox reflectors

This item is well made at a fair price but you should make it clear that it does not fit onto the reflectors supplied with pretty common lights like the Amaran 200 D and the Godox SL 200ii. It works perfectly with its own matt black adapter, supplied in the box, but this means you are entirely reliant on the bare COB light. The reflectors supplied with the Amaran 200 and the Godox SL200ii lights have a slightly thicker roll at the outside rim of the reflector and this will not fit underneath the brackets on these barn doors. it just about fits the aperture SL 300ii D but it’s not as secure as one might want. So whilst it’s true that 95% of reflectors on the market are 18 cm diameter, it is not true that this will fit them all. If you have a magic fix for this then please do tell me!

Very good quality 8-Leaf Lighting Barn Doors from Smallrig made from very good materials and will last a very long time if treated correctly.

Very easy to setup it is just a case of connecting it to the light with the bowens mounts it really can not get any simpler than that, and just as simple to remove.

I have been using this for just under five months now mostly for photography and I am very impressed with it, it is very strong and durable and the build quality is excellent BUT I have come to expect nothing less from Smallrig.

I have been using the bowens mount with a number of different lights and it fits them all as expected this is using the standard bowens mount size.

Comes with a 30 grid which will help to control the light, you will not get any light overflow with this on which is perfect when you want precise lighting.

Also has a gel filter holder so you can attach gels to it which is a very nice touch and if you cut the gels to the correct size to fit this you won’t be disappointed it is quick to attach and remove the gels. But of course you may not want to cut them as you are limiting them to holder size so this is something to keep in mind.

Overall I am very happy with the barn doors, I feel it is a fair price for the quality you are getting and I would definitely recommend it.

SMALLRIG is a really high quality brand focused primarily on photography accessories. The 8-leaf barn door mount adapter is a great addition and comes with a honeycomb grid that you can use to concentrate the light. The grid is of high quality and does not "smoke" during use. The kit also included a coloured gel filter holder and a bowens bayonet adapter ring.

It's a pretty comprehensive addition to your kit and as always with SMALLRIG it's built to a very high quality. Price could be improved, but that aside it's brilliant.

SmallRig non sbaglia un colpo! Queste alette sono esattamente quello che cercavo.

Stavo cercando delle alette che mi permettessero di dare una luce di taglio al soggetto senza inquinare lo sfondo, evitando di usare ingombranti flag.
Questo prodotto risponde perfettamente alle mie esigenze grazie alla profondità delle alette superiori e la possibilità di modificare l'angolo delle alette laterali.

Molto interessante anche la scelta di abbinare una coppetta con l'interno nero (e non argento, come nel 90% dei casi).
Questo evita che la luce si rifletta in punti non controllabili.
La griglia di 30° lavora molto bene sia da sola che combinata con le alette.
Fondamentale anche l'aggancio di sicurezza da bloccare manualmente, forse avrei preferito anche un cordoncino con moschettone per massimizzare la sicurezza sul set.

Il kit comprende anche un portafiltri, che in realtà funziona più da "reggi-filtri": i fogli di colorgel vanno interposti tra la base quadrata ed il portafiltri con aggancio magnetico.

Le prove luci indicate in foto sono state fatte su una parete distante 2m.

Il prodotto non lascia passare spill di luce laterali. Mi piace la sua solidità e la qualità costruttiva, che caratterizza tutti i prodotti smallrig, è curata nei minimi dettagli.
P.s. L'attacco è compatibile anche con le coppette smallrig che escono in dotazione con i fari

Che dire, con queste alette ho completato il setup light completamente brandizzato Smallrig ( fari, stativi, modificatori ed ora anche alette). Ne ho già comprato un secondo!

In conclusione consiglio vivamente questo prodotto a chi vuole avere un pieno controllo della luce sui set con accessori affidabili.
