I was looking for a small ballhead for my Action 4 and this is tiny! It's exactly what I was looking for.
Construction is all metal with a rubberised band around the body, making gripping the thing easy. I was concerned I'd find the tightening screw fiddly, but that tab allows easy purchase between thumb and forefinger. It's a better solution than the usual rounded, plastic knob, especially considering its diminutive size.
I did buy another similar sized Smallrig ball-head, just in case this wasn't fit for purpose, but this is exactly what I was looking for and can't see how they could improve on the design. I like that the colour matches the Action 4's Smallrig cage, which was purely coincidental.
For its size it's solid, which is what you'd expect from Smallrig, but I've included some photos so you can see it in use because I found the product photos difficult to visualise. I've screwed a Tilta magnetic clip to the top of the ballhead, allowing quick release of the Action 4.
I'm not sure I needed two of these but they only came as a pack of two, and I'll probably find a use for the other. Could work well as a small light mount.
