Synopsis:

An optimistic Gwok Zan-Waa (Jackie Chan) arrives in Hong Kong, quickly finding himself impoverished. That is, until a serendipitous encounter with a rose seller (Gua Ah-Leh) leads to his inadvertent appointment as boss of a local gang.

Amidst the reluctant leader's efforts to reform their fraternity and businesses, is an endeavour to share his new-found fortune with the bestower, all whilst trying to stave off rivals and the authorities.

A remake of Frank Capra’s ‘Pocketful of Miracles’, Miracles - also known by its Hong Kong English title ‘Mr Canton and Lady Rose’ - is an action-comedy-romance set against a backdrop of lavish elegance and style.

    As a kid, this was one of my least favorites since there wasn't back-back action like most of Chan's flicks from the era I was used to. Now an adult and more of a movie buff, I can appreciate Chan's storytelling and his camerawork much better. I've to say the action and comedy are top-notch here with a stellar cast that have excellent chemistry on screen. To top it all off, the final fight scene has some of the most creative action choreography I've ever seen. Grossly overlooked!

    88 films, this is possibly the best transfer I've seen from the impressive lineup of Jackie Chan classics on Blu-Ray! It's like you've sold your soul to the devil to make this 30 year old movie look like it came out a few years ago. The colors, brightness, contrast, and the picture clarity are on point! Super impressed.

    A must-watch for Chan fans! Oh, there's also an extended HK cut adding 20 more mins of content on Cantonese audio with English subs. It's such a blast!

    An empty box with a disc for 24 euros, I think it's very expensive. The publisher should make more editions with a booklet, poster, etc. I'm ready to pay more, but not for just plastic box.

    The bonus material on the disc is also very, very sparse: - 4 minutes of trailers and a talking head of someone unknown, this is not what I want to see on a Blu-ray edition.

    The cherry on the cake is not the best quality of encoding, compression. Yes, we don't have much choice, so we have to buy this, but the joy from this is minimal.

    This movie is fun and incredibly well put together as Jackie Chan takes steps forward in his directing career. Also starring in this film it is a fun film and a good story. The picture quality of this disc is the best it has ever been and is a very good transfer. Everything works well visually and the film is easy to watch. Sound is ok on the international dub. I haven't watched with original audio yet but for what it is the audio is good enough. Overall I am very happy with this purchase.

    I grew up loving Jackie Chan movies and needed to have this one in my collection. Most of the other companies that have put this out on DVD have had crappy transfers. The American edition called "Black Dragon" looked like garbage so I figured I needed to get a nicer blu ray. I have a region free blu ray player so I have no issues playing thisin the USA. The movie is outstanding, the transfer looks fantastic and the special features & booklet are on point. This is my first release I have purchased from 88 Films and I must say I am impressed with their release of this. If you are a Jackie Chan fan definitely pick this one up
