Awesome Movie - Classic
On The Run is a movie which doesn’t get spine about a lot, but it’s one hell of a film.Yuen Biao in his most serious role, along side Pat Ha deliver great performances. Great villains also as corrupt cops in Charlie Chin, Yuen Wah, Phillip Ko and Lo Lieh.Blu Ray looks awesome, I’ve had the Vhs and Vcd for years, so good seeing this in real quality and makes it an even better watch.Includes, double sided poster, movie cards and booklet. Worth the money

Very good film. Violent and clever film. Similar to a lot of modern day action films with some shocking moments you would not see in Western films. I can see why America wanted to buy the rights to it at the time

This review is for the Amazing 88Films Blu-ray Limited Edition.

    PLOT...
A police officer must solve his wife's murder before corrupt members of his department catch up to him.

Released in 1988 On The Run is another great Hong Kong action thriller, a great story that sees a cop solving his wife's murder with help unwillingly from the Female Assassin that did it. A good few twists and turns as you can imagine, and an unpredictable outcome. The movie has some good action, bloody shootouts and some great fights and stunts, this is not a showcase martial arts movie but more of a gritty bloody brawling movie. The cast is amazing, every star is great, some lovely ladies too as usual. This is yet another must for the collection, especially this beautiful 88Films Limited Edition which is just amazing, highly recommended if you love this genre of movies.

The Blu-ray has a great HD picture for its age.
Features include 2 commentaries, trailer, and 2 interviews (39mins)
Plus, the Amazing Rigid box with brilliant new artwork, a fantastic large double-sided poster made from good quality thick paper, 80-page book with plentiful info and photos, 6 art cards.
Region B UK. Running time 90mins. 1988. Cantonese with English subtitles.
88Films smashing it again and again with these quality releases.

Remarkably bleak pre-handover Hong Kong noir thriller with some very good performances, several cool set pieces and an extremely memorable showdown.
And a great Blu Ray release!

5.0 out of 5 stars Très bon film
Reviewed in France on 21 October 2022
