Locating Hole for ARRI

Locating holes for ARRI can be found on four sides, you could attach any accessory with locating pins for ARRI, such as SMALLRIG Magic Arm 2115.

Attachment Points

It features raised attachment points on both the top and bottom of the cage for use with neck straps and to accommodate the Atomos Ninja V Sunhood frame.

Cable Clamp

Includes a single HDMI cable clamp that works with a range of cables and is ideal for the AtomFlex 4k 60p cables. If required, the cage supports the use of a second HDMI Cable Clamp 1693 for the HDMI output.

The Atomos Shinobi is a superb camera field monitor, with excellent screen quality. However, it does feel a little vulnerable as it is made from plastic. This SmallRig cage is absolutely superb. It is precision made and fits perfectly.
Not only does it protect the Shinobi superbly, it also gives you plenty of mounting points to add things like microphones, lights etc. You can also of course mount your monitor to the top of your camera or another stand (with small additional accessories).

I have plenty of other SmallRig products and they all fit and work very well, so I would not hesitate in recommending this and other products in the range.

Der Atomos Shinobi Monitor hat leider nur ein Gehäuse aus Plastik. Der Cage von Small Rig ist aus Metall und bietet ausreichenden Schutz. Am Cage sind mehrere Gewinde vorhanden. So kann der Monitor auf unterschiedliche Weise an einer Kamera angebracht werden. Durch den Cage wird der Monitor etwas schwerer.

Vorweg:
Ich habe 3 Cage's für einen Atomos Shinobi 5" miteinander verglichen:
1.
Andycine (für Atomos Ninja V u n d den Shinobi)
2.
Nitze (ebenfalls für den Ninja V u n d den Shinobi)
3.
SmallRig (NUR für den Shinobi, für den Ninja V gibts einen extra entworfenen Cage)

Bei den ersten beiden ist vlt. gerade das Problem, dass er an beide Monitore passen soll und da mussten m. E. Kompromisse eingegangen werden und das merkt man. Das ist beim SmallRig natürlich anders.

Was beim Andycine besticht, ist der Preis incl. Sonnenblende und HDMI-Klemme für ca. 80€, das ist unschlagbar. Etwas höher schlägt der Nitze mit ca. 98€ zu Buche, ebenfalls komplett. Da hebt sich der SmallRig schon preislich deutlich ab: komplett für ca. 163€ ! Das ist schon heftig mehr.

Wo liegen nun die Unterschiede ?
Zu 1. Andycine:
Er besteht nicht aus einem Teil sondern aus 4 Teilen, die zusammengeschraubt wurden. Für den Shinobi sind KEINE Aussparungen für den Lüfter vorgesehen und ich bezweifle, dass da genügend Platz für eine Lüftung ist. Das Anbringen der Sonnenblende ist fummelig und sie fällt von der Qualität her gegen die beiden anderen deutlich ab. Der Monitor liegt hinten an und wird von den beiden Schrauben oben und unten gehalten, ebenso wie beim SmallRig und das ist gut bei den beiden; das ist bei beim Nitze leider NICHT der Fall ! Leider passt der Imbusschlüssel wie auch bei SmallRig nicht wirklich gut zu den Schrauben, wodurch hier etwas Spiel ist.
Was wirklich toll gelöst ist, ist die HDMI-Klemme mit den Flügelschrauben, das ist wirklich Klasse. Nur muss man, wie auch bei der Nitze eigentlich die beiden kleinen Cage-Befestigungsschrauben bei jedem Stecker auf- und abstecken lösen, da sonst der HDMI-Stecker entweder gar nicht herausgeht oder aber beschädigt werden kann. Bleibt der günstige Preis, aber dafür muss man schon einige Nachteile in Kauf nehmen.

Zu 2. Nitze:
Die Vorteile sind eben, dass er im mittleren Preissegment in diesem Vergleich liegt, aber immerhin noch unter 100€ komplett. Er hat die beste Sonnenblende dieser drei ! Auch passt der Imbus hervorragend perfekt zu den Schrauben, im Gegensatz zu den beiden anderen. Und auch der Nitze-Cage besteht aus 4 Teilen, die dann zusammengeschraubt den Cage ergeben. Da der Shinobi "nur" aus Kunststoff gefertigt ist, habe ich ohne die Stütze hinten beim Nitze leider kein gutes Gefühl. In beiden anderen Cage's ist der Monitor wesentlich besser gehalten.
Der Nitze hat mit Abstand die beste Sonnenblende im Vergleich dieser 3. Auch dass diese unten OFFEN ist, so dass man das Display, auf dem alle Einstellung per Touch erforderlich sind, deutlich besser erreichen und bedienen kann. Kommen wir zur HDMI-Klemme: Diese ist eigentlich gut gedacht, ABER sie hält mit der Seite, auf der die Feststellschrauben sind, nicht mal den Stecker, da die Haltefläche zu kurz ist und selbst die Gummierung überhaupt nicht mehr den Stecker erreicht. Und wie schon beim Nitze muss man eigentlich den Cage-Halteschrauben lösen, um den Stecker ein- und wieder auszustecken, was draußen in der Natur wohl ziemlich schwierig zu händeln ist - schade ! Der Nitze hat die Aussparungen für die Lüftungsschlitze, was ich für sehr wichtig erachte, da dieser Shinobi-Monitor KEINEN LÜFTER hat und deshalb sehr gut belüftet werden MUSS ! Erwähnt werden muss noch, dass bei diesem Cage auch die Original Sonnenblende von Atomos verwendet werden kann.

zu 3. SmallRig:
Er ist mit Abstand der teuerste in meinem Vergleich hier. Der Cage selbst ist am besten von den dreien verarbeitet und ist aus einem Teil gefertigt, so weit ich das sehen kann. Er hat sogar oben an beiden Seiten Halteschlaufen für einen Gurt z. B. Er passt sehr gut von den Maßen und hat hinten die besten Anlegeschienen für den Shinobi (hier macht sich wohl bemerkbar, dass er NUR für den Shinobi entwickelt wurde und keinen Kompromiss eingehen muss, dass er auch noch für den Ninja V passen muss.
Die Sonnenblende liegt qualitativ zwischen der mäßigen Andycine und der sehr guten Nitze. Aber da man sie einzeln dazu kaufen muss (es gibt hier z. Z. jedenfalls noch kein Set-Angebot) weiß man das erst, wenn man sie erworben hat und die vom Nitze z. B. gibts nicht einzeln und sie passt auch nicht, leider !
Die HDMI-Klemme ist dabei und lässt sich auch gut montieren, aber ich finde, dass sie etwas zu kurz an den Halteschenkeln ist, d. h. sie "umfasst" nur den halben bis max. dreiviertel Stecker, je nach Modell. Auch würde ich mir statt der geriffelten Drehschraube hier eine Flügelschraube wie beim Andycine wünschen. Und wo wir schon beim Wünschen sind: Dieses Set ist einfach zu teuer, auch wenn SmallRig gerade eine Aktion hat und einen Haltearm mit Rohrklemme (#3725) dazu schenkt, aber dass muss man selbst im amazon-Angebot unter "Werbung" recherchieren.

Mein Fazit:
Alle drei Cage-Sets haben ihre Vorteile und Nachteile, siehe vor.

Ich muss also so oder so einen Kompromiss eingehen und das ist sehr schade, da nicht einer alle Vorteile vereint.

Aber mehr als 2 Sterne kann ich dem Andycine nicht geben und das auch nur wegen dem Preis.

Der Nitze bekommt von mir hier 3 Sterne und das ist schade.

Der SmallRig bekommt von mir 3,5 Sterne (was ja leider nicht vorgesehen ist), aber wegen dem sehr, sehr hohen Gesamtpreis und der nur durchschnittlichen Sonnenblende und der noch nicht ganz ausgereiften HDMI-Klemme ist da momentan nicht mehr drin.
