Mounting Points

The clamp features multiple 1/4��-20, 3/8��-16 threaded holes and through mounting holes on the bottom, so you can mount it on tripods, gimbals and other devices.

Rubber Cushion

The rubber cushion on the plate can increase the friction so that it can be locked firmly.

Lever

Tightness of the clamp can be adjusted by stirring the tiny screw on the lever, so it is also cross-compatible with most plates for Arca standard.

On initial inspection the clamp appears to be of a solid construction and well built, time and use will determine overall quality.
For basic photography purposes it is perhaps over engineered in that it sports a large number unnecessary 1/4�� tapped holes among others where a single hole would suffice, and it is on the larger side for todays modern mirrorless and smaller DSLR cameras.
The clamp works well with my Smallrig L bracket and other Arca Swiss plates I have on other cameras I use with only a little adjustment necessary and provides a solid clamping force once adjusted using the supplied allen key.
There are only 2 down sides. First of all I would have expected a locking mechanism of some sort so that the clamp is less likely to be released accidentally. This is slightly offset by the nature of the design of the lever lock itself which in my case with the L bracket tucks itself around the edge of the clamp and sits tightly against the base of the bracket when closed thus reducing access to the lever and making it slightly more difficult to be accidentally released.
Secondly for those using multiple cameras with this clamp the need for an allen key to adjust the clamp jaw size is likely to be an inconvenience. These two draw backs knocks off a star in the value for money rating as even my significantly less expensive Andoer lever bracket has a locking mechanism and built in adjuster at a third of the cost of the Smallrig unit, although perhaps not as sturdily built.

A very nice item intially BUT during use discovered, very quickly, that each activation of the clamp affected the tension screw for the clamp. Result a loose camera with, if not noticed, a disconnected camera. An allen key is provided, so re-adjustment is easy but worrying if the camera is going to drop off the tripod or, as in my case, the monopod, does not add to the shooting experience.

I have tried to contact Smallrig customer services but website didn't allow my comments to be submitted.

Hopefully, there is a fix as the clamp itself is very well made.

Rather disappointed with this Arca Swiss type clamp and plate. It was well made and so it should be for the rather high price. However, the plate attachment screw was far too long bottoming out in the camera leaving the plate very loose. A washer under the screw head would have made it secure but then the head protrudes below the slot in the plate thereby interfering with the fit of the plate to the clamp. The plate itself was too tight to push into the clamp although the lever was in the fully released position. You could slide it in but that defeats the object of quick release. Had the price been very much lower I would have taken a file to the edge of the plate which would solve the tightness, and I would have shortened the screw somehow. BUT...another Swiss plate in my possession ( I like to have them on lens feet as well ) stayed sloppy in the clamp even when the lever was fully in the clamping position. I realise that machining tolerances can go against you but at over ?40 I expect the item to work out of the box. The clamp may suit a different camera but this wasn't for me so it has been returned.
