Product description
"The Demoniacs (Les Démoniaques) sees director Jean Rollin eschew his regular subject of vampirism for a brutal nautical tale of ritual horror and supernatural vengeance.
A gang of ruthless pirates, known as ‘the wreckers’, rape two survivors of a shipwreck. The women, now mute, are guided by a mysterious clown to a ruined castle, where they receive magical powers with which to exact their revenge on the gang.
Starring Joëlle Coeur (Schoolgirl Hitchhikers), John Rico (Blood Orgy of the She-Devils), Willy Braque (Lips of Blood), and Mireille Dargent (The Iron Rose), The Demoniacs is one of its director’s most shocking and violent tales of the fantastique."

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 9 August 2024Beautiful transfer and really nice packaging with a lovely booklet full of pictures, interviews and facts about the making of the movie.
The movie comes packaged in a hard outer case that holds the cardboard digipack case for the 4K disc and booklet.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 1 August 2024Another great edition from Indicator.
impeccable delivery by PAACK, fast and safe.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 7 May 2024Away from the normal Jean Rollin fare of vampires, this is a tale of ship wreckers that, besides looting, also rape and murder two young women who, when resurrected, are given the power of revenge by a demon imprisoned in a ruined building. Like other Rollin films, it’s slow moving but well compensated with many striking images now further enhanced by a top rate restoration. It's also a little more violent than other Rollin films.
The film is presented in three versions for this limited edition BluRay – the theatrical release, an export version (featuring two extended sex scenes, arguably more tedious than erotic) and the much cut English language version released as Curse Of The Living Dead, a title obviously primed for the drive-in market hiding over Rollin’s “expressionist” aim.
Jean Rollin is a director who’s either loved or hated, and a balanced assessment of his work (as well as brief intros to the cast) is provided by genre film historian Stephen Thrower in one of several features that accompany the film, another is an archive interview with Rollin, who died in 2010. Presented in a hard cover box accompanied by a full colour, 80 page book, this is a good value, perfect addition to this director’s films that are now gaining fresh attention on DVD and BluRay.
