Quick Release Structure - This magic arm features an exclusive quick-release slider slot structure. Installation is accomplished by pressing a single button and then smoothly sliding the slide into the groove, ensuring stability and safety and enhancing the efficiency of disassembly and assembly.
Anti-Twist Design - The top plate is equipped with 1/4"-20 screws and locating pins, allowing external connection to monitors, LED lights, and SmallRig action camera cages such as 4119B and 4088B. This setup effectively prevents equipment deflection, ensuring shooting safety.
3.5kg Load Capacity - The ball head's surface features a spiral pattern that enhances friction for a load capacity of up to 3.5kg. And the head can be adjusted 360 degrees to meet your needs while remaining flexible.

Opening the box is like unwrapping precision engineering. This Smaller magic arm is very well made and solid. The serrations around the joint between the two sections keeps the arm in shape, and slightly loosening the locking nut frees up both of the ends of the arm for repositioning a light or external display.

I really like the engineering in the mooning plates. They have almost all the options covered as the two locking pins either side of the 1/4-20 screw are removable using the supplied allen keys. The ball heads are slightly rough to make them easier to lock in place and it works. This arm can really hold the stated 3.5Kg with ease.

This would be ideal to mount your lights or monitor to a camera that is fitted with a camera cage. Smallrig does a range of cages to suit most cameras, though other bands also can be used.

Really useful 1/4" mounting arm for monitors, flash, led lights etc
Has full articulation with ball heads on each end, plus an adjustable fixed elbow joint in the middle.
Good study build quality and very lightweight for it's size.
Loses a star because I couldn't find the instructions on the website and only a qr code in the box - took me far too long to realise the one thumbscrew is used to loosen all 3 joins simultaneously.

This "magic arm" is used to link two other SmallRig accessories together, such as a camera cage and a light or microphone. While designed specifically to work on their own system, it can also be used to mount any other items with the standard camera screw thread, likely after removing the alignment pins.

On opening the box (all cardboard and paper packaging), this item immediately shouts quality. It is entirely metal construction and, while that gives it a not inconsequential weight, it is definitely designed to join heavier items together where necessary.

The ball joints are smooth and are released when loosening the central joint. That, in turn, is released by undoing a very easy to grip handle. No difficulty trying to loosen a slippery adjustment here, it's very well put together. All joints are very well machined. Loosening the centre slightly will permit the ball joints to be set without affecting the centre which means it doesn't all go "floppy", so much easier to adjust than some other arms I have seen.

The end mounts both have a quick release feature - press the button on the side and the mount itself easily slides out. It can be inserted any of four ways, too, another convenience (the ball joint makes this strictly unnecessary in this particular arm, but is a good design as it may be useful on other connectors). The springs that hold the release are rather strong and the button needs a good press to release the grip, which is good to know when your expensive equipment is attached to the other end.

Two Allen keys are provided, one to loosen off the main mount screw at each end, and the other can be used to remove the two pins meaning this can attach to any accessory with a 1/4-20 camera screw thread. This is possibly the only real downside, that a tool is needed to attach the ends, but it's obviously needed due to the design. The intention would be that all equipment has the small fixing device permanently attached meaning this is not needed to be done often. Still, something that is likely to get lost and be unavailable at a critical time.

That said, it's a very minor issue. Overall this is an excellent mount arm that should withstand some serious work, whether enthusiast or professional.

Der Magic Arm ist insbesondere gut, wenn man bereits andere Produkte im Hawklock H21 System hat, kann mit den inbegriffen Schnellwechselplatten aber auch so genutzt werden. Die Stärke des Systems läge aber darin, schnell und einfach zwischen Zubehörteilen wechseln zu können und ein Kamera Rig unkompliziert zu erweitern. Es kann den Zusammenbau massiv beschleunigen und ist angenehm zu verwenden. Ich habe mir daraufhin bereits weitere Teile bestellt, die H21 Platten nutzen, wobei es auch bspw. NATO Rails mit der entsprechenden Rasterung gibt, die in dem Fall die Zentrierung und genaue Positionierung in meheren Stellungen ermöglicht. Sehr durchdacht und überaus praktisch!
