Was this really first broadcast over 30 years ago? ItÂ’s staggering to believe, especially when you once again unlock the fun contained in The Muppet Show: Series 2 on DVD.

ItÂ’s fair to say that all The Muppet Show favourites get an airing across the 24 episodes that make up the series. ThereÂ’s Piggy and Kermit, of course, but it always tends to be the supporting characters that consistently generate the big laughs. Fozzie the aspiring comedian Bear, for instance, along with the unrivalled Animal, the great Gonzo, Rowlf bashing away on the keys and the high-pitched Beaker. And thatÂ’s before weÂ’ve even got to the majesty of The Swedish Chef, and consistent hecklers Waldorf and Statler.

Series 2 of The Muppet Show also brought together a congregation of impressive guest stars, with Julie Andrews, Elton John, Peter Sellers and Steve Martin among the names joining in the maniacal fun. And with a healthy combination of sketches and big musical numbers, itÂ’s easy to understand why The Muppet Show remains one of the finest childrensÂ’ television programmes of all time.

WhatÂ’s also pleasing is how well itÂ’s held up. While not all of the The Muppet Show is timeless, thereÂ’s nonetheless a real evergreen feel to much of the material here.     There's nothing like a bit of the muppet show to take you back 20+ years! This DVD does it so well, initially I purchased this for my children. They were supposed to be entertained by it whilst I was painting. They loved it and predictably I had to sit down and watch it too. This box set contains all those extracts that you will remember from your formative years. Love it.

    I loved the Muppet show on a Sunday teatime and it was always the topic of the day in the pub later. I bought the series one and then series two and they are so funny especially Fozzie, Dr Bob Kermit of course. Pity these shows are not on TV anymore. Kermit and his gang are the BEST ! I'm a daft kid again when I see these.

    This is the UK version of Disneys 2007 Season 1 DVD. It has four discs and each disc has it's own slim case cover. The cover just has a close up picture of Miss Piggy and at the bottom it says Series Two 4-Disc Set. This has audio in English, French and Italian with menu's in these languages as well. There are English, French, Italian, Swedish, Norwegian, Swedish, Danish and Finnish subtitles. I like this season as it has my favourite muppet Mickey Moose!!
