Christopher Robin
In the heartwarming live action adventure Disney¡¯s ¡°Christopher Robin,¡± the young boy who embarked on countless adventures in the Hundred Acre Wood with his band of spirited and lovable stuffed animals, has grown up and lost his way. Now it is up to his childhood friends to venture into our world and help Christopher Robin remember the loving and playful boy who is still inside. A perfect film for children and family!
Key Characters
Winnie the Pooh
Pooh is described as being stuffed with fluff, as well as being 'a bear of very little brain'. He is generally kind and friendly towards everyone; he is also very childlike and likeable. He can be very courageous in tough times and is consulted when trouble occurs.
Kanga and Roo
Kanga is a sweet caring mother and offers motherly advice and even food to anyone who approaches her for the same. Roo a playful, curious, happy-go-lucky child who can be quite a handful at times. Roo loves to go bouncing with Tigger, playing Poohsticks and playing in the sandy pit by his house. Roo is amazingly enthusiastic and cheerful, he loves to discover new things in life and his joy meets no end upon discovering small little wonders along the way.
Eeyore
Eeyore is unbelievably loveable donkey who is dismally gloomy for almost eternity. But that¡¯s not Eeyore¡¯s perception of himself, according to him; he doesn¡¯t expect too much of himself and therefore remains quiet for most of the time. Eeyore is quite knowledgeable yet he confines his knowledge to himself.
.
Piglet
Mostly due to his small size and flimsiness, Piglet is an incredibly timid, fragile and insecure animal. Pooh and the others don't seem to mind Piglet's constant fears and happily brings him along and/or protects him through every adventure.
Tigger
Tigger is arguably the most eccentric member of the Hundred Acre Wood. Overly energetic, reckless, and fairly thoughtless, Tigger is somewhat of a trouble-maker and causes a fair share of mishaps for both himself and his friends. To his core, however, Tigger is extremely loving and friendly; he means well and tries his best to be of support towards his friends.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 26 November 2020I really enjoyed this film, more even than I'd expected. It's a beautifully made gentle family film built around a delightful central performance by Ewan McGregor in the title role. The combination of live action and cgi works very well. The animals and toy animals are very realistic, which is nice, and the story of the adult Christopher Robin rediscovering his childhood friends and along with them his imagination and appreciation for what is really important in life is engaging, thankfully without becoming too syrupy. Add to that a solid supporting cast (none of whom gets an awful lot to do), some glorious filming locations and a lovely original score, and you get a winning combination.
This is a film that will keep the entire family entertained on a wet Sunday afternoon. For the young ones there are the delightful animals and toy animals, first and formost a really adorable reincarnation of the beloved Winnie the Pooh. For the adults there is a relatable story and some very nice performances. The DVD is nice, subtitles are available for those who may need them. No extra features. Which latter is a pity. Ewan McGregor has a huge amount of screen time on his own with the animals and it would have been nice to get a little behind the scenes featurette to see how it was done.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 30 July 2023I wasn't sure about this film. Would it be annoyingly trite? Would it not pay proper homage to A.A.Milne's original concepts and ideas of simplicity and innocence?
Fear not, dear sixty-something film fan... this is a delightful film that is deliberately aimed at all of us who are contemplating what we could change about our treadmill lives. A brave and funny telling of a magical part of our lives that we all know we never wanted to lose. With a message that it does not have to be That Way. Whatever size your brain might be.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 13 December 2018Disney bring A.A.Milne's famous characters back to life in this charming tale of how old favourites Winnie The Pooh (voiced by Jim Cummings) and friends bring long lost memories of their friend Christopher Robin (Ewan McGregor) back to life when Pooh finds a now grown-up Christopher in London where he works.
Trouble for Pooh is that he's been unable to find friends
Tigger, Eeyore, Piglet, Rabbit, Kanga, Roo and Owl at home in Hundred Acre Wood and needs the help of old friend Christopher to find them.
However, Christopher who lives in London with his wife
Evelyn (Hayley Atwell) and young daughter Madeline (Bronte Carmichael) works for luggage firm Winslow's, a company in need of inspiration a task that had been given to Christopher Robin to present at a board meeting.
How can Christopher help Pooh find his friends at Hundred Acre and present his carefully worked-out plans at the same time ?
His daughter and childhood friends will surely help save the day ?
A tale worth sharing with the family.......(if you haven't seen the 2017 Goodbye Christopher Robin this is also worthy of a viewing)
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 1 March 2024What a great journey especially if you have conversations with your soft toys at home.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 24 December 2018This is a whimsical family film that tells the story of a grown up Christopher Robin, a man worn down by the cares of the adult world who rediscovers his joy in life with the help of a few old friends from the hundred acre wood. a whimsical film can be very hard thing to pull off Steven Spielberg failed to get the right balance in his similarly themed film 'Hook', but director Marc Forster does capture the right balance of magic and a hint of sentimentality that makes films like these work.
Ewan McGregor is excellent as the earnest Christopher Robin who thinks he is going mad when Pooh turns up on his doorstep, Hayley Atwell is great as his worried wife who sees the effect the responsibility is having on her family and Mark Gattis gives a slapstick performance as idle boss. Then there are the heroes of the film Pooh, Piglet, Tigger and of course the wonderfully mournful Eeyore also Kanga, Roo, Rabbit and Owl all make appearances. So this a really good family film perfect for winter Sunday afternoon watching or any other time you need to escape to the Hundred Acre Wood.

5.0 out of 5 stars A bit slow in parts but all the right feels
Christopher Robin is Disney's live action story about the boy from the AA Milne books and what happens when he grows up.There has been a bit of controversy with the look of Winnie the Pooh and the other characters. Some people find the button eyes disturbing. What you have to understand is that Disney has taken the look of the stuffed animals originally owned by Christopher Robin Milne; A.A. Milne's son, and used them along with certain attributes from the Disney animated characters to give the look to the CGI characters. (The original stuffed toys are on exhibit at the New York Public library in the Children's section) The film itself starts with Christopher Robin saying goodbye to Winnie the Pooh and the rest as he is heading off to boarding school. The next few minutes of the movie show Christopher Robin growing up and may be boring for younger children. Christopher is faced with a crisis at work that also spills over into his family life, Winnie the Pooh meanwhile has his own crisis and decides to seek out Christopher for his help. The arrival of Pooh causes hilarious disaster after disaster sure to keep the kids enthralled. The voice work is excellent with Jim Cummings doing the voices of both Pooh and Tigger. Peter Capaldi as Rabbit is a good choice and Brad Garrett is a superb Eeyore. It is the dialogue given to Eeyore in the second half of the film that redeemed the movie for me and certainly kept the adults in the audience entertained. Ewan Mcgregor did a great job as Christopher Robin, Hayley Atwell was good as Evenlyn his wife and Bronte Carmichael as Madeline their daughter. The CG animation is very good, leaving you to believe that a stuffed toy Winnie the Pooh was walking with his friends in the Hundred acre wood. The movie is rated G in Canada but some countries may give it a PG as there is a scene with Christopher Robin in battle during the war as well as a fairly intense scene about heffalumps and woozles. Disney has managed to combine together an entertaining film along with the ideas about the importance of family and not losing yourself as you grow up into an entertaining whole. I would recommend you by the movie but suggest you also buy the original stories by A.A. Milne to read to your children or yourself before you watch the movie. There you will learn about the 100 acre wood and Pooh sticks bridge (Both real places) and about Christopher Robin who originally called his stuffed toy Edward Bear but then changed it to Winne Ther Pooh.

4.0 out of 5 stars Eine einigerma?en ¨¹berzeugende Realverfilmung von Disney
