    When my children were little Beauty and the Beast was their favourite Disney film... the animated version of course. I sat and watched it with them numerous times and it certainly became my favourite too. I was really looking forward to seeing this to see how it compared to the original. I wasn't disappointed. All our favourite characters were there and what's more all the songs we loved (and a few more too). Emma Watson is superb as Belle and Dan Stevens makes a brilliant beast. I didn't recognise Ewan McGregor as Lumiere. Gaston is played by the normally lovely Luke Evans. He really portrays a nasty egotistical villain. In fact all the cast do a sterling job. I still love the 'be our guest ' scene best ...probably because the cgi was great and I know all the words. This film has lost none of its charm in convertion. It has a real draw and who doesn't love a happy ending. You won't be disappointed if you were a fan of the original. Get lost in your memories.

    Beauty and the Beast has been my favourite film since I was a little girl. The story of a girl who loves to read is definitely something I have always been able to relate to! So, I was understandably worried when Disney announced this live action remake. What if they didn't do my favourite film justice? I went into the cinema with butterflies in my stomach. Luckily for me, this film is incredible! Everything about it blew me away. The actors are perfect in their roles (Luke Evans and Josh Gad as Gaston and LeFou respectively are a particular triumph and joy to watch), the CGI and visuals of the film are stunning and the songs are just as catchy and awe-inspiring as they have ever been.

    I wish I could go back in time and tell myself not to worry about this film as I honestly cannot say whether I enjoy this version or the animated film more!

    I purchased this on offer from غ, mainly to go with several others I own. I’m not going to comment upon the movie itself as this is a matter of personal taste.

    Delivery was as expected, and the 4K disc itself looks great. However, the sound really wasn’t as good as others I’ve heard so that’s a little disappointing.

    Recommended for fans of this type of movie.

    There's very little, if anything constructive criticism I can say about this dvd. I'm glad I saw it in the cinema. The only reason it took me as long as it did to buy it was because as always in life, we all know there is something else more important to buy or deal with (e.g. health issues.) The dvd arrived easily with the estimated time frame, and due to the nature of the technology of (I think it's called) 'live action' the colour, sound and quality of the footage is of course excellent. The only small downer I would say about this dvd is that this particular disc doesn't include the 'special features' which, of course, is the behind the scenes footage. Having said that, to be fare, that footage is exactly what it says it is, it's bonus footage. It doesn't detract from the main feature, the film. Hence I've rated it a 5 star.

    This is a lovely film. I haven't seen the animated film (don't like animations!) and I don't usually enjoy musicals, but this is very special. Beautifully filmed, with lovely contrasts, and wonderful acting, especially by Emma Watson. The fight scene, between the 'occupants' of the castle and the villagers was brilliant. The 'machine gun harpsichord' and the scalding teapot were lovely touches (although I still don't like animations!).
    I would really recommend this as an excellent family film, and one well worth buying, because I could see this being watched time and time again. Lovely for a peaceful Sunday afternoon family occasion!
    That magnificent organ of all wisdom, Wikipedia, quotes stupid (in my opinion) reviews concerning homosexuality. Ignore them. This is not relevant. Most children would not 'pick up' on this particular sub plot and any adult who is concerned by this can simply do the other thing. Just sit back and enjoy a well told fairy tale.

    What a truly fabulous re-working of Disney's classic animation feature! I am well into my 70's now and since the original Disney animation feature came out I must have seen it a dozen times at least and still get a tear in my eye when the last rose petal falls... Disney has done the impossible and the live-action re-working of this story is even better than the original. There was a lot of adverse publicity surrounding the 'gay' elements in the new version, but times have changed (even if we don't necessarily agree for the better) and the moral of the main story is not lost in any way. A couple of new songs add to the already brilliant score and Emma Watson is a truly superb Belle. I bought the 3D blu-ray version and it is very easy on the eye and totally natural (no forced effects). The quality of the vision and sound is excellent.
