Wall-E
Wall-E - Disney Pixar Studios transport you to a galaxy not so far away for a new cosmic comedy adventure about a determined robot named Wall-E.
After hundreds of lonely years of doing what he was built for, the curious and lovable Wall-E discovers a new purpose in life when he meets a sleek search robot named Eve. Join them and a hilarious cast of characters on a fantastic journey across the universe. Transport yourself to a fascinating new world with Disney Pixar's latest adventure, loaded with bonus features, including the animated short fi lm 'BURN-E'. WALL-E is a film your family will want to enjoy over and over again.
Key Characters
Eve
At first, Eve is hostile and dedicated to her task. However, after meeting WALL-E, she begins to warm up to him and befriend him.
Wall-E
Because WALL-E has been alone for hundreds of years, he has developed a 'glitch': sentience and a personality and a mind of his own. He has become very curious and he collects anything interesting he can find during his job. Even though he still obediently follows his directive, WALL-E can get distracted, collecting some of the trash rather than compacting it all.
Product description
Heart-warming Pixar animated tale about a robot who accidentally discovers the way to save planet Earth. 700 years after humanity has left Earth, WALL-E (Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth-Class) fills his days collecting rubbish, and anything else that takes his fancy, trying to fend off the boredom of his lot. But unknowingly, the tiny tube-eyed robot has discovered a secret that could make the once beautiful planet habitable again, enabling humankind to return. One day, Eve, a search robot, lands on Earth in a cloud of dust, and WALL-E is smitten. When she realises the importance of his find, she sets out to tell the remaining humans, eager to let them know the planet can be saved. But WALL-E, after centuries of being alone, can't bear to see her go, and hitches a ride through the cosmos on an adventure his memory banks will never forget.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 18 December 2009With each new Pixar film the ante is raised on what can be achieved in animation. I recently watched all of the main releases again and what struck me most were the step changes in the quality of each film. At the beginning the emphasis was on the main characters (understandable, there is only so much computing power to go round), Nemo, Buzz Lightyear, Boo etc, and the background is window dressing. With Finding Nemo and The Incredibles more was added but in WALL-E the background is pretty much fully realised. When WALL-E and EVE are flying through space the detail is breathtaking and there are galaxies/stars as far as the eye can see. When WALL-E does his lonely rounds, a dusty, deserted planet Earth stretches away into the distance (although I have to say the compacting of waste into endless piles of metallic cubes seemed a convenient way of filling out the scene, even though that IS probably what a robot would do :) ). In the chase scenes we no longer simply have a dog, Woody and a lorry as in Toy Story. Now all hell breaks loose with dozens of animated figures taking part in the action.
However, WALL-E is about more than the animation. How the hell did Pixar get me, an adult male, to care about the blossoming love affair between two robots? Well, they did it by first getting me to emphasise with an honourable, plucky, dutybound little diamond in the wasteland, called WALL-E, who barely utters a single intelligible word throughout the film. EVE is more conventional, an exotic, futuristic catwalk model of a robot that Wall-E can't help but fall for. Why EVE would concern herself with WALL-E is less evident at the outset but she eventually comes to the same conclusion as the rest of us, that WALL-E is a heroic little bugger who deserves to get the girl.
I welled up when WALL-E and EVE performed a courtship dance around the human spaceship. It is done with the grace and flair of a Fred/Ginger movie.
Animation is where CGI works best. The more I watch photo-realistic action films, the more I wonder what the point is. Ok, Bruce Willis wasn't REALLY jumping down lift shafts in Die Hard but I got the impression he might actually have been involved in the stunt. In animation the imagination can really run riot and I hope that WALL-E is just the next evolutionary step in the amazing canon of Pixar films.
Anyway, as you might guess, I LOVE this film and I am not easily pleased. Don't be put off by the animation tag or the childish feel to the trailers (after all, kids will always be the target audience). Watch this, it is probably the best animation (let alone Pixar animation) film ever made.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 1 December 2012Love, loneliness, hope, loss and rediscovery are just some of the themes explored in WALL E, another surefire hit from the team at Pixar. Probably my favourite Pixar film, it never fails to make me smile.
Primarily aimed at kids but with more than enough smarts and humour to charm adults this is THE perfect family film for our modern times.
WALL E is a happy little load lifting waste compactor robot living on a now adandoned and polluted Earth who unwittingly becomes the catalyst for a rebirth of humanity. Finding friendship and maybe even love along the way WALL E will touch your heart and make you laugh at his madcap adventure on Earth and then in space. Beautifully written, animated and directed this is undoubtedly a modern masterpiece of film making and a future classic.
Pixar are never mean with their selection of extras but this Blu-ray sets a new standard for me. 2 commentary tracks which are both well worth your time. One has us one on one with the director Andrew Stanton which is a joy to listen to, providing an in depth disection of everything relating to the making of the film. The other commentary track is a Blu-ray exclusive and is labelled as a 'geek track/trash talk' with 4 of the peeps from Pixar and its great stuff too. Very geeky, quite funny and another great listen this is also a worthy inclusion and something Id like to see more of.
Theres a fairly short making of WALL E featurette but its still interesting to watch. We get BURN E and PRESTO, (2 animated shorts) BnL animated shorts, interactive videogames, (yes, really!!!) a tour of the ship from the film, deleted scenes plus more.
But the extra which is probably worth the disc price alone is the feature length documentary 'The Pixar Story' which is just a very special document of the story of the wonderful people at Pixar, including John Lasseter, Andrew Stanton, Pete Docter and the sadly recently deceased Steve Jobs. A true fairytale documented almost as it happened. Wonderful.
The picture and audio quality is stunning, as ever with Pixar, so if you're wondering at all this is pretty much the perfect Blu-ray release. Magnificent Pixar!!!

Who would've ever believed that a pair of robots, both with two word vocabularies, could star in one of the BEST animated love stories EVER!

4.0 out of 5 stars Wall E

1.0 out of 5 stars Won’t play???
My son loves this movie, so what a better idea to purchase it for my little man. As soon as it was delivered (fast delivery) he opened it with excitement. We put it in the blue Ray player and it says that it’s not able to play. That the blue Ray is from a different country. So being that it won’t play I give it 1 star. A waste of money.
