- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 16 December 2024Following in the footsteps of the previous two films, A Quiet Place: Day One is focused on character rather than spectacle. Its New York setting gives it a different texture, especially in relation to the amount of people present and the depiction of the aliens acting en masse. This isn't the tourist New York, but the everyday New York, and it's quite refreshing to see a film resisting the urge to include such iconic landmarks as the Empire State Building or Statue of Liberty (even Cloverfield couldn't resist the latter).
For me, this is the best Quiet Place yet, largely because of its emotional impact, which was greater than that in the previous movies. The acting is excellent, as it's always been in these films, and the tension palpable. This is a great addition to the Quiet Place canon, one with its own strengths, but which remains true to the core qualities of the franchise. Highly recommended.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 19 December 2024Plenty of suspense a good script and everybody involved did a cracking job, sound quality and picture are excellent, an easy recommendation.
