Product description

Box set featuring two popular animated features. 'Lady and the Tramp' is Disney's animated tale of Lady (voice of Barbara Luddy), an aristocratic cocker spaniel, who runs away from home after falling foul of two siamese cats. She is befriended by Tramp (Larry Roberts), a down-at-heel but charming mutt. They set out for a night on the town together, and romance is soon in the air when they share a meal at a spaghetti restaurant. 'Lady and the Tramp 2' (2001) is the sequel to 'Lady and the Tramp'. The original duo's offspring, mischievous pup Scamp (voiced by Scott Wolf), is always getting into trouble. After running away from home he meets lovely stray Angel (Alyssa Milano) and the streetwise Buster (Chazz Palminteri), who enrolls Scamp in the Junkyard Dogs gang. However, how long will Scamp be happy in his new, collar-free surroundings?

    The transfer of this movie is really superb and the transfer / remastering fooled me into thinking the film was made in 2011 not 1955!

    As this is the first Disney animated movie to be made in cinema Scope Widescreen there is no black screen borders or Disney View (2.55:1 instead of 1.33:1) on either side like earlier releases such as Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Alice In Wonderland and Fantasia, same goes for the 2001 sequel Lady and Tramp 2 Scamp's Adventure.

    Lady and the tramp is basically a romantic tale between a upper class dog "Lady" and the lovable street dog "Tramp" who are joined by a memorable cast of heroes in the mold of "Jock" and the "Beaver" whilst the villans are in no doubt the Siamese Cat Twins complete with signature theme song "we are Siamese" in 7.1 DTS Master Audio soundtrack.

    For a mere ?1 (At the time I purchased this film) you get the "made for home viewing" sequel which looks great but the story of a strained relationship between father (Tramp) and son (Scamp) has been done before and Disney has not tried to do something new or different for this release.

    The sequel has a 5.1 DTS Master Audio track instead of a 7.1 and as an added note there is no DVD included with either release so if you want the DVD enclosed you'll have to buy the standard double play editions.

    I grew up with Disney as a toddler. I've been trying to bring them home with me when it came in Diamond Edition in the USA but I didn't have the time and the money. My family and I used to have VHS copies. Both films were outstanding. Earlier this year, I had to do whatever I can to preserve some of the Disney vault classics and buying Region 2 DVD's to me are the answer as most of them are labeled "Dispatched from and sold by غ". And plus I've been replacing some titles for a 2 movie collection which makes sense. Thumbs up.

    What can you say about Lady & the Tramp. It was great when I saw it as a kid, way back when it was first in the cinema and even better the second time round on Blu-Ray. Sentimental, maybe I am but I loved it. And Tramp 2, not quite so thrilling but still worth watching and Tramp & Scamp save the day in the end.

    I purchased the DVD's for my grandchildren who love Disney films. We will have a lot of fun watching them. The DVD's were reasonably priced and were delivered on time in strong packaging.     I read reviews before purchasing this, and I was a little sketch but for those that say it is blank discs or doesn't work in their DVD PLAYER... well it is a blu-ray unless you switch the product over before purchasing. The 2 movies come in separate cases but a holder? To keep them together that is super cute. I am pleased and glad I took my chance as I have looked at other vendors that want waaaaaayyyy more money for just one of the movies opposed to these together.
